Good morning after doing some searching on the MS site I have come across this I hope it helps you as much as it did me on connecting the phone to exchange. Please pay close attention to the section "Windows Phone 7 and Certificates" as this was the issue I had. Also you might look at this document as it may help in understanding why microsoft has enabled these requirements. Sit back and relax while enjoying a nice tall glass of the Microsoft Kool-Aid. PS: I realize I have not given a definitive answer on how to fix the issue.
