If you have a web app that you want to offer to your customers in addition to Catalog apps, you should add it to the Application Vault. Note that you can only upload apps packaged in the APS format.
After you upload the app, it will appear in the Customer Panel of all customers. In some cases, apps from the Catalog require server-wide configuration before customers can install them. For example, if an app installation affects some Plesk services, it may require an administrator password. When your customers attempt to install such an app, they are asked to contact their provider you to perform the configuration.
After you configure the settings, customers can install the app on their websites. Generally, server-wide settings of an app are the settings that apply to all app installations and they cannot be changed by customers. After an APS package is uploaded to the Vault, you can manage its availability to customers. This can be useful when you want to temporarily hide your app from all customers.
The app will disappear from the list of available apps of all customers. To return the app to the list, make it available in the My Apps tab. Note that you cannot perform these operations on apps you downloaded from the Catalog. You can only remove packages stored in the Vault. However, what makes this more powerful is limiting what software your different Service Plans are allowed to install.
This will update all accounts that are already part of the service plan you selected unless customized and locked for syncing.
You should only see the applications you have chosen under Featured Applications or All Available Applications for this Subscription. Log in to the Control Panel for the domain you wish to install the software for. Click the Applications tab in the left-hand menu.
From here, you will have 3 options to install or manage applications: Manage My Applications: This will allow you to manage or remove previously installed applications. This feature is similar to options like QuickInstall , which you can find in cPanel. The tutorials in this article apply to both Plesk 10 and The Plesk Application Vault is quick and easy to use from the Control Panel for the specified domain. Users with administrative access to Plesk will be able to configure their Application Vault.
If the Application Vault is not configured, it will allow you and your customers to install several programs without an extra fee.
